Welcome to Quad Bikes, the unofficial-official Harvard bike shop.


Spring events and early closures: We’ve got a lot of events coming up for the week of 4/16 – 4/22. We’ll be closing early and/or opening late several of these days so call ahead or take note of these times below:

  • Tuesday 4/18/17: Safety checks at the Science Center Plaza from 11am – 1pm. The shop will opening at 2pm and closing at 5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Bike Harvard, a GSAS student group dedicated to cycling advocacy across campus.
  • Wednesday 4/19/17: Safety checks at Mellen Walk, in the Lesley University campus from 11:30am – 1:30pm. The shop will be opening at 2pm and closing at 5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Lesley University in celebration of Earth Day.
  • Friday 4/21/17: Safety checks at the Science Center Plaza from 12pm – 2pm. The shop will be opening at 3pm and closing at 5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Commuter Choice, an employee benefits program at Harvard, in celebration of Earth Day.
  • Saturday 4/29/17: 11am – 1pm safety checks at Holden Green Harvard housing.
  • (Also) Saturday 4/29/17: 1:30pm – 3pm safety checks at Peabody Terrace Harvard housing. The shop will be open briefly from 3:30PM to 5pm.

All events are free and open to the public, so come on down and join us!

We are located at the intersection of Shepard and Walker Streets in Cambridge, MA. Look for the big yellow bike sign. We are down the stairs!


Notices:

  • Winter Hours: We will be open our normal hours for the winter. However, we will be closed from 12/24 until 1/2. We will re-open on Tuesday 1/3 and resume normal hours.

Services:

We are a full-service bicycle workshop. We primarily focus on repairs, although we have a limited selection of the most useful accessories (helmets, lights, and locks), as well as a small selection of new bicycles for sale. Rarely, we will have used bicycles, but call or email ahead for our selection. For a larger selection of new bicycles for sale, please check out our partner organization, Crimson Bikes.

For tune-ups, please call or email ahead to schedule an appointment. Turnaround time for tune-ups varies considerably depending on the season, but expect to leave your bike at least overnight. We may do same-day tune-ups during the winter; in the spring and fall, tune-ups can take up to a week or longer.
